Dandy Food Products was established in 1960 as a snack foods manufacturer in Emeryville, California. An ex-marine who was infatuated with shrimp chips couldn’t find real-shrimp taste on the market, started the company to make his own. Current owners purchased the company in 1989. Over the years, Dandy’s has evolved to become not just a snack manufacturer, but also a wholesaler and importer of foods. Products include biscuits, snacks, candies, and Asian groceries.
Dandy’s attributes its market success to capturing an extensive network of retailers, including mainstream supermarkets and all major Asian grocers. The company also aims to supply premium quality foods to the increasingly health-conscious public by carefully selecting imported products.
